Hey everyone. I have been fishing since i could stand and hold a fishing pole. Fly fishing has been my passion since I was 12 years old. I have fished primarily for trout in NC, VA and TN. However, I have a special love for the Smith River. I have fond memories of learning to fool the wily wild browns that call this river home. In recent years, I have really spent a great deal of time honing my skills in European style nymphing. If you’re interested in learning, I’d love to teach you. It’s actually a great way to get into fly fishing and once mastered, can produce amazing results.
If a more traditional approach to fly fishing is your thing, we can definitively get into some fish and have a great time too. When the water is off color and/or flow is up, throwing streamers and big nymph rigs can produce some big fish.
If bushwhacking into back country trout streams suits you, I have over 15 years experience in the NC mountains chasing wild and native fish. This can be a great way to get away from the crowds and possibly see some the these little jewels face to face.
