Frequently Asked Questions

Answers about shopping, booking, vendors, and security on The Fly Market.

General

What is The Fly Market?

The Fly Market is Two Guys Flies’ online marketplace connecting anglers with independent fly tyers, artists, guides, outfitters, and lodge owners. You can shop hand-tied flies and gear, book guided trips, and reserve fly-fishing lodging — all from vetted, independent vendors.

Does Two Guys Flies sell the products directly?

No. Every listing — flies, gear, guided trips, and lodging — is created and fulfilled by an independent vendor. The Fly Market provides the platform, payment processing, security, and vendor vetting that make it safe to buy and book directly from them.

For Customers

How do I know a vendor is trustworthy?

Every vendor goes through a registration and verification process before they’re approved to sell on the Platform, and listings are subject to ongoing product and vendor audits. See “For Vendors” below for what that process involves.

Is my payment information safe?

Yes. The entire site uses SSL encryption, and all payments are processed through secure, PCI-compliant payment gateways. Two Guys Flies never stores your full credit card number on our servers.

Is my personal information shared with anyone?

We never sell or share your contact information with third parties. The only exception is sharing your order and shipping details with the specific vendor fulfilling your order, so they can complete it — every vendor agrees to keep that information confidential and use it only for order fulfillment. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

How do I track my order?

Order status updates and tracking are automated through your account on the Platform once a vendor ships your order, so you can follow its progress without contacting the vendor directly.

Can I return an item or cancel a booking?

It depends on what you purchased. Guided trips and lodging are bookings, not physical goods, so they cannot be returned — changes are handled as a cancellation or reschedule per the vendor’s policy. Some physical products, such as hand-tied flies, are final sale and cannot be returned due to their handmade nature. See our Shipping & Returns page for full details.

For Vendors

How do I become a vendor?

Register through our vendor sign-up flow. During registration, you’ll be asked to provide details that allow us to confirm your identity and the quality of the products or services you plan to offer — including who you are, what you sell or provide, and, for guides, outfitters, and lodges, any relevant licenses, permits, or certifications. This helps us keep The Fly Market a trusted, high-quality marketplace for every angler who shops here.

What happens to the information I provide during registration?

It’s used solely to verify your identity and evaluate your products or services before approval, and is never sold or shared with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Are vendors reviewed after they’re approved?

Yes. We conduct ongoing product and vendor audits to make sure listings continue to meet our quality and trust standards. Vendors who fall short may have listings removed or their account suspended.

What fees does Two Guys Flies charge vendors?

The Fly Market charges a low 15% service fee on products and services sold through the Platform — well below what traditional outfitters and shops typically take — with the remainder paid to you automatically.

Who owns the photos and media I upload?

You do. All photos, videos, and other media you upload remain your property and are protected under copyright law. We only display it to support your listings on the Platform.

Guided Trips & Lodging

Are there risks involved in booking a guided trip?

Fly fishing and outdoor activities carry inherent risks, such as exposure to natural elements and travel to remote locations. Guides and lodges may require you to sign an additional liability waiver before your trip — always review any vendor-specific requirements before you book.

Can I cancel or reschedule a booking?

Cancellation and rescheduling policies are set by the individual guide, outfitter, or lodge and shown on the listing before you book. Contact the vendor directly as soon as your plans change.
