Returns & Cancellations

Make the policy clear before purchase, then resolve problems through the marketplace. Final sale does not mean a buyer must accept a damaged, defective or incorrect order.

#Before you start

  • Read the current Shipping & Returns policy and your accepted vendor agreement.
  • Return eligibility and cancellation terms must be visible on the listing before purchase and consistent with applicable law.
  • This page summarizes the published policy; it does not create a new return window or override buyer rights.

#Steps

  1. For each listing, state whether ordinary returns are accepted, the return window, item-condition requirements, and who pays return shipping where applicable.
  2. Follow the marketplace’s published final-sale rules. Hand-tied flies, custom/personalized items and listings explicitly marked final sale generally are not eligible for ordinary change-of-mind returns.
  3. If a buyer reports damage, a defect or the wrong item, retain the order details and relevant photos privately. Work with marketplace support on replacement, correction or refund—even for final-sale products.
  4. For eligible returns, provide the approved return instructions privately and confirm the agreed process. Do not publish your private return address in the documentation.
  5. Coordinate an approved refund through the original marketplace payment process. Do not claim a refund has been sent until the authorized system confirms it.
  6. For a trip, lesson, lodging or access reservation, handle the request as cancellation or rescheduling under the policy shown when booked—not as a parcel return.
  7. For subscriptions, distinguish future-renewal cancellation from refunding an existing order or shipment. Follow the enabled subscription workflow and approved policy.

#Example: the wrong size of final-sale flies

A fulfillment mistake is different from a customer simply changing their mind:

The buyer ordered size 14 but received size 10. Keep the order and a photo of the received flies, and contact marketplace support to arrange the appropriate correction. Do not dismiss the issue solely because flies are final sale.

#No invented deadlines

The published marketplace policy does not impose one universal return window across all vendors. State an approved, lawful window on your own eligible listings rather than copying an arbitrary 14- or 30-day rule.

For damage, defects or incorrect orders, the current policy asks customers to contact support within a reasonable time of delivery. Applicable consumer rights still apply.

#Bookings, weather and calendar blocks

State cancellation, rescheduling and weather rules before booking. Preserve the terms that applied to the purchase; do not retroactively change them.

After an authorized booking change, check the listing’s availability and external calendars. iCal updates are not instantaneous; use Calendar Sync (iCal) and do not assume that processing a refund updates every calendar immediately.

#Keep a resolution record

Keep the issue, correspondence, authorized decision, tracking and refund confirmation in your permitted order records. Customer information is for fulfillment and resolution, not an outside marketing list.

The published policy directs issues to support@cobbconsulting.net. You can also call (828) 283-0363. Do not send banking details or full payment-card information.

#Troubleshooting

A customer wants to return hand-tied flies.

Check whether it is a change-of-mind request or a damaged, defective or incorrect order. The published policy treats them differently.

I cannot find a refund button.

Permissions and payment workflows vary. Contact marketplace support rather than sending money outside the authorized process.

A cancellation did not unblock another platform.

Check the confirmed booking change, import status and external platform refresh. The website does not re-export imported reservations.
